Bathroom Renovation - Day 16

As I mentioned on Day 15, today I painted and it didn't turn out as I planned.  The original color I choose was Behr's Gentle Rain from Home Depot.

July 29th - Last Thing I Bought

My sink faucet didn't work with the new countertop so back to the hardware store :(

BTW it's my 3rd trip to the hardware store in two days, ugh

Music I'm Lovin

It's a Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac kind of week

Best Coast "Storms" I'm currently obsessed with this Fleetwood Mac remake, it has such a great relaxed vibe to it Storms - Storms - Single

My favorite song of Fleetwood Mac's is "The Chain" The Chain (Live) - The Dance (Live)and for another great Fleetwood Mac cover, search for Florence + The Machine's "The Chain" cover at 2010's Glastonbury, such an epic performance

Then there's the Dixie Chicks cover of the classic "Landslide" Landslide - Home

And of course I have to include Stevie Nick's "Edge of Seventeen" Edge of Seventeen - Bella Donna

And while not Stevie Nicks or Fleetwood Mac, the other song I've got on repeat is Frank Ocean's "Bad Religion" Bad Religion - Channel ORANGE This is one artist that lives up to the hype, also check out his brilliant live performance on Jimmy Fallon

July 25th -Heart

The story of this heart is that it comes from inside my dryer. A little girl lived in the house before me and I believe it's from her, a nice house warming gift you could say

July 18th - Plate

Here's what's on my plate this morning

And while the bacon was good (isn't always) the eggs were not :(

Sewing Corner

How the previous owners used the corner
I've been sewing since I was a kid and I always wanted a sewing or craft spot in my house when I grew up.  Well it took awhile to get this spot made but it finally came together.

Music I'm Lovin

I love Sia's voice and her with Flo Rida make a great combination "Wild Ones" Wild Ones (feat. Sia) - Wild Ones (feat. Sia) - Single

Explosions in the Sky is a truly great instrumental band, it just puts me right at ease. Here's my favorite from them "Glittering Blackness" Glittering Blackness - How Strange, Innocence

Bon Iver "Blood Bank" Blood Bank - Blood Bank - EP

Last week Gym Class Heroes was on VH1's Unplugged and while I never paid much attention to this band, I thought there performance was surprisingly great. Having Patrick Stump sit in with them was an excellent choice and being "umplugged' really brought out Travis McCoy's voice and lyrics.

Here's another great video of them. Gym Class Heroes and PS.22 Chorus "The Fighter"

July 17th - My Obsession

Red Bull.... I don't think I'll ever break the habit

Living Room Renovation

The homeowners before me had a great style, it just wasn't my style.  As you can see from some earlier posts I've been slowly renovating my 1955 house and now I'll be finally posting some of the other room renovations (besides just the bathroom).  So here's   my before and after for the Living Room

Before

And now...

Music I'm Lovin

Katy Perry "Wide Awake" Wide Awake - Teenage Dream - The Complete Confection

Kasabian "Fire" Fire - West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum (Deluxe Version)

The entire Whip It soundtrack, Drew Barrymore has excellent music taste. My favs are Tilly and the Wall, Peaches, Dolly Parton, and The Ettes, but definetely check the whole soundtrack out Whip It (Music from the Motion Picture) - Various Artists

Kings of Leon "Knocked Up" an oldie but such a classic Knocked Up - Because of the Times

And can't wait to hear No Doubt's new single coming out July 16th!
