Reorganizing a basement nook on the cheap

I have a little nook in my basement where I placed a wire rack a while ago.  It quickly became a place for me to throw random stuff on and became very cluttered and messy.
I finally got sick of looking at this growing mess.  Not being able to spend a lot of $ I finally tackled this beast.  I found a number of plastic bins I had not been using around the house and picked up a few more at Wal-Mart.  I sorted everything into clear categories like "Sewing" "Crafts" "Pictures" and "Paints" and printed out labels on plain paper and tapped the labels onto the bins.
I also purchased a tension curtain rod for $1.79 and used an old curtain to cover the nook. Leaving the curtain down hides it all and sometimes I can tie it back.

Of course not everything fit neatly into bins as you can see, but it's a vast improvement over how it originally looked with everything thrown on top of each other.

Christmas Part 3 - La Lavande Soaps

These are amazing smelling soaps that I got from La lavande.  They are all different smelling eggs and packaged in a unique way.

When I first unwrapped the egg packaging confused me, but with the amazing smell I knew right away what they were.

And yup, one's missing already because it's already in use!  These are hard to find because Oprah put them on one of her "lists" but if you can find them they are worth the price (and I can totally see why Oprah likes them)

Christmas Part 2 - Burberry Body

I love Burberry perfumes.  They make me feel so elegant and sophisticated when I wear them.  Last year I got a mini set of assorted Burberry perfumes and this year I got their new perfume Burberry Body, another great smelling perfume that I'm excited to start wearing!

Christmas Part 1 - Clarisonic Mia 2

I know it's been a few weeks since Christmas, but in the next few posts I'll be showing some of the very nice gifts I was luck enough to get.

The first is the Clarisonic Mia 2.  I have very difficult skin and sometimes it can get very unpleasant.  I had heard a lot of great things about the Clarisonic brushes and was lucky enough to get the "mini" brush named Mia 2.  I've been using it for two weeks, every day, and my skin is already much calmer and evening out more.  I'm very excited to see what will happen after long term use and would highly recommend it!

Miller Style Polish Sausage

I love polish sausage and have since I was a little girl.  Here's the incredibly simple way my family has always made it.

What you need:  3 Miller Lite Beers and Polish Sausage

Place the polish sausage in a crock pot or in a big pot on the stove and pour in the beer
Now I like to let it simmer for at least 3 hours, but you could do it in as little as 1 hr.  It's all about how much time you got.  When your done letting it simmer and infuse the flavor, transfer the sausage to a pan with a few tablespoons of the beer from the crock pot.
Cook in the pan for a few minutes until the sausage is cooked throughly and slightly brown on the outside and then your done!  It's not the pretties looking dinner but sure is yummy!
